District Chairman Patch

Rob at KlondikeI’d like to take a moment to inform you of some leadership additions at the District level.

Erick Ratzer – District Intern
Erick is a senior at North Central College and will be graduating Spring 2012.  He is interested in joining the BSA as a professional once he graduates and we will be helping him understand what the BSA career entails.  Erick earned his Eagle Scout Award with a troop in Libertyville.  Please keep an eye out for his emails as he learns and assists with district operations.

John Schmitt – 2012 FOS Chair
John will be leading our FOS campaign for 2012.  He is CEO of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce.  John has a son who earned his Eagle Scout award with Troop 100 and had the chance to experience Philmont with his son.

Ron Petrucci – 2012 FOS Family Co-chair
Ron has agreed to assist with the Family portion of our FOS campaign for 2012.  He will be working with Jim Grissom to help schedule FOS presentations with your units and presenter.  Ron is also a Unit Commissioner and an Asst. Scoutmaster at Troop 107.  Please be attentive to emails regarding scheduling your FOS presentation from Ron and Jim.

Thank you for all that you do for Scouting!

District Chairman Patch

NEWS FROM ROB: The Thunderbird District would like to extend a warm welcome to our new District Finance Chair Michelle Jones! She is currently the Scout Committee chair for Troop/Team/Crew 203 chartered with the LDS Church. She resides in Aurora with her husband Daryl. All three their sons went through the scouting program in the Thunderbird District and she is proud to say that all 3 are Eagle Scouts. Their oldest son lives in Portland, Oregon, where he is a middle-school teacher and coach and working on his Master's degree in his spare time. Their middle son got married last summer and is currently working on his Bachelor's degree in communications. Last but not least, their youngest son recently returned from Korea, where he was serving a mission for our church. Due to illness, he had to come home much earlier than expected, but his health is slowly improving and he will be returning to school full-time this fall. The scouting program has obviously played a big role in our family over the many years we have lived here and she grateful for the opportunity to continue to serve.
Yours in Scouting,
Rob
